Anyone else experiencing jealousy for their friend and having a crush or feelings for them while having a boyfriend? Is this ocd or is this me really not connecting with my boyfriend and a sign to end things? I tend to be this way for multiple guys but seem like I made a genuine connection with this close guy friend and it bothers me so much.
I mean, we can all feel jealousy with our friends having a partner because their partner is doing some thing that our partner is not doing. But the quick big question is are you ruminating about this with what if questions? Are you finding yourself with compulsions when you think about this? Are you thinking about this or is your OCD thinking about this? I know these are more questions that are going to your head, but at the same time you have to file what is an OCD question and what is an actual question. I have TOCD too and I have to constantly question whether this is a relationship problem or if this is an OCD problem and that’s how I try to differentiate it to get the answer I need, hope this helps and sending lots of love to you.
@Anonymous It feels like ocd but I would feel jealous that my friend is showing affection or dating another person and that I developed a crush on them while being in a loving relationship with my partner and experiencing other ROCD symptoms. It’s become hell for me and my boyfriend

I believe you might be over thinking it. Of course you might have feelings for your guy friend. Y’all have a connection. I have feelings for all my friends because we have a connection But it doesn’t mean you are IN love with them and sharing that intimate connection.
You are human! You aren’t just gonna be glued to one person. You choose to be with one person. So you are going to crush on other people, you are going to want to pursue them, you are going to click with other people more than your partner, you are going to be jealous of people you crush on and they are in a relationship. Your human!!!!! If I have a crush on someone, I enjoy it but don’t pursue it. Because that would be a choice. Your choice is stronger than your human needs/urges. Enjoy it! It’s ok. Just be respectful towards your partner.
It feels like my boyfriend is ‘another compulsion” because he makes me happy and that is what ocd does, but when he is gone, my mind can go everywhere. Mostly thinking im not attracted to men (im bi and for some reason i feel like i have to choose 1 gender, and that that would be women) even though i know that i dont have to choose and can just be happy with my bf. But then my mind can go “but are you happy” or “youre not aroused right now or aroused enough so your gay or you dont like bf” Thats really hard, because my one of my biggest fears is being with a man all my life (having a family etc) and then falling in love with a woman and throw it all away. I really really love my boyfriend, but it can feel like this is not my real identity and im doing the wrong thing. Like when im not thinking about it, if thats maybe my ocd and not the overthinking. Does anyone understand?
I just started dating this guy not too many months ago. he is everything i ever wanted and he treats me right. but now my OCD intrusive thoughts are creeping back in. ones like “do i love him/like him” and like “i have to tell him im having these horrible OCD thoughts or we will never know how i truly feel.” but i know i love/like him. And sometimes I’ll be having a good day and then BAM, the thoughts smack me in the face and i get stuck in an anxious loop and it ruins my mood. how can i break this compulsion without feeling so anxious and do i tell him i’m having these thoughts to relieve the anxiety?
Hello, I recently discovered I may have relationship OCD. I haven’t been formally diagnosed yet but I started experiencing thoughts like “I don’t really love him” or “I’m gonna break up with him”, and sometimes even thoughts that he doesn’t love me or he’s gonna leave me. This all started when I got a text from a former partner, and it was very surprising. I thought since it affected me so much that it meant I still loved him and that I didn’t love my current boyfriend. Before this event, I struggled with intrusive thoughts and compulsions but never about relationships and I didn’t think I had OCD. I wasn’t experiencing any of these specific thoughts before I got that text, and it’s really scary and I’m afraid my thoughts are true. I really do love my boyfriend but these thoughts are really making me depressed.
