Checking & "Just Right" in My ERP Journey
Hello friends đ» I hope you're all doing well. Lately, I've been diving into ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) therapy to tackle my OCD, particularly my checking behaviors. My therapist mentioned that I might have some similarities with "just right" OCD, and that got me curious. While I've done a bit of online research, I thought it would be awesome to chat with you all and get your insights. To give you a bit of context, I've found myself compulsively checking all sorts of things - doors, stoves, locks, random plastic I find on the ground, and even my phone screen and others devices. These behaviors have been a constant in my life, and I believe that understanding the "just right" aspect could be a game-changer for me. So, if any of you have experience with "just right" obsessions or can share how it fits into the world of OCD, please comment! Knowing that I'm not alone in this journey and hearing how you've dealt with similar challenges would mean the world to me. Thank you all in advance for your support and advice. Let's be there for each other as we navigate the ups and downs of managing our OCD.
