Religious OCD

Anybody else with intrusive thoughts related to religion feel like they are coming from you. Does anybody else feel numb to your thoughts and like u just don't care. I'm scared that I committed the unforgivable sin, I feel lost and scared. I can't tell my thoughts from my intrusive thoughts anymore. I can't feel any emotions to my thoughts. I'm scared God has abandoned me. I'm scared he cut me off. I'm worried about my thoughts. I feel numb and emotionless and scared. I feel scared and confused like God has Left me or something. I try to cry and I do but I feel nothing in my heart. I ask God to forgive me and soften my heart to him but I feel nothing. I'm scared that I am going to hell and be eternally separated from God. If anybody has had similar experiences or thoughts pls comment or if u even see my post pls give me advice on what to do I'm really scared and emotionless. I'm scared. I love god and the holy Spirit but idk what to do.

Are you doing exposure & response prevention therapy currently for OCD? If not, I recommend it. We can invite the Lord into the habits we should be building. "Lord help me to accept uncertainty" "Lord help me to allow intrusive thoughts to simply pass by" "Lord help me to cast my cares at your feet" "Lord help me to trust your Word that you will never forsake me" "Lord help me to laugh at my OCD, and re-focus on you". It sounds like you're caught in an OCD cycle of fear and intrusive thoughts. What a privilege it is that God is available to us through prayer at any time. I often use prayer as a way of working through anxiety and intrusive thoughts and re-organizing my mind. Remember, the enemy wants you stuck in fear, stuck on uncertainty and stuck on the future. Wants you out of the present moment, which is the only moment we can act in. Try to get into a habit of taking it to God and truly accepting uncertainty. Also write down your compulsions (such as seeking reassurance on here, and others) and when you notice you're engaging in compulsions, speak it out loud: "I am seeking reassurance, that is a compulsion" and then go to prayer instead. It gets tricky, because prayer can *also* be a compulsion, but not if used correctly. Don't give up, you can do this.

Thank you for this. Ik that I'm stuck in a OCD cycle I just don't feel like my thoughts are intrusive anymore. And it scares me and I do pray alot as it does help me. But I just feel so emotionally drained and tired of fighting this everyday.

@Jesuslover28 Hi - Jaimie Eckert says something to the effect of “emotions are overrated.” And she helps Christians with scrupulosity for a living. Faith (the only thing needed for salvation) is NOT a feeling. It is simply believing what God says. If you read Hebrews 12 there are a list of many people who did things by faith. Many of them were scary things…I highly doubt they “felt” like doing them, or even “felt” faith….i hope this helps. Yes, feelings do follow faith, but - and especially with a disorder that creates constant fear/guilt/condemning thoughts - we have to learn to take our feelings with a major grain of salt.

Religious ocd

So I’ve had it really bad blasphemy thoughts against god and the Holy Spirit but lately I’ve been ha these thoughts they say I do mean them even though I don’t and I’ve been feeling really weird like yesterday I felt really disconnected and it kept trying to make me say I meant the thoughts, but I don’t and I’ve just been trying to keep the thoughts away, but they’re so loud. I know the truth, but it’s just like so hard to keep them away with the images and stuff still there. It’s like I’m having a hard time being emotional so it’s like I don’t know. I don’t want to feel like I’m doing it for real when I’m not and I just don’t know what to think anymore. I don’t want God to harden in my heart. It’s very hard for me to even look at Christian things at all without saying something that.
