Hey so I struggle with pocd I find it very upsetting the wokes never will touch on cases when a transgender person commits a sex crime and often say it's false news coming from the Republicans I've researched into some of these cases and they actually were true stories. Does anyone else find this upsetting like I'm all for lgbtq+ rights I'm actually a member myself but I find this to be rather hypocritical.
Yes, you're absolutely right, and I say this as an LGBTQIA+ person myself as well. There are people in our community who will not acknowledge when LGBTQIA+ people commit crimes like that, and it bothers me too. It probably comes from the fact that we are more likely to be falsely accused of things like that than cishet people are. However, just because it isn't 100% of the time true (just as it isn't 100% of the time true when cishet people are accused) does not make it okay to refuse to acknowledge when the perpetrator of a crime that is violent or sexual in nature happens to be LGBTQIA+. I understand that some people don't want to talk about it just because of the stereotypes about our community and they're worried that homophobic/transphobic people will see the incident as confirmation that we're all pedophilic sexual predators or something. But that doesn't make it okay to refuse to acknowledge it whenever an LGBTQIA+ person really does commit a sex crime or violent crime, because that completely invalidates the experience of the victim of the crime, which is never okay. Also, someone choosing to commit such a crime is about who they are as a person, not related to their sexuality or gender identity (In fact, it really pisses me off when people refuse to admit when one of our community does something like that, because if anything, it makes it seem like we really ARE the perverted predators that society claims we are, and are just trying to hide it or something). So yes, that kind of "it's all false news!" behavior you were talking about within the LGBTQIA+ community is not going to help our community in the fight for equal rights- and if anything, it's only going to hurt us. I get that sometimes it really is false news, and indeed oftentimes when an LGBTQIA+ person commits a crime like that it is immediately propagandized in the news and people try to claim that all of us are like that, and of course I hate that. But the thing is, even if homophobic/transphobic people are going to hold extremist beliefs, why in the world are people in our community responding with extremism on the other side? None of that is going to help the LGBTQIA+ community. It's like fighting fire with fire. Nowadays people are forgetting their damn common sense. (Sorry for writing such a long post here, but yeah, in summary, I agree with you.)
You are spot on I will never stand for people who are pushing for MAPs to be part of lgbtqia+. Also it's these people who do commit sex crimes in the community that are an insult to those that don't like any community in which a sex crime is committed. It should be address by the community when presented the facts. Otherwise the conservatives will continue to be hesitatent to accept us.
@Anonymous - Exactly! It's the people who are perverts and commit sex crimes, and the MAPS who think they're part of the community, that are hurting the effort to get equal rights because then conservatives think that's all of us. If we actually addressed the things that happened, like "Yes, an LGBTQIA+ person committed a horrific crime, but the vast majority of us don't condone their actions and that person's inhumanity doesn't represent the community as a whole" then it would be so different, but because there are so many people who will go in the other direction and straight up deny the facts, it does way more harm than good because it seems like we're supporting the crimes!! And yet those same people who are hurting the community with that kind of extremism are the ones who think they're the trailblazers for equal rights- 🤦

@Anonymous - Absolutely. The kind of extremism and hypocrisy going on in the community these days is just mind-blowing.
I'm sure it's difficult dealing with your POCD, especially when you don't want to be a bad representative of the LGBTQ+ community. However, does it help you to research these specific cases? It sounds like this could be a case where you're doing some checking, self-reassurance, research, or other compulsions. I think we can acknowledge that yes, anyone could in theory be the perpetrator of a sex crime. However, they would need to act on thoughts/urges, not just experience thoughts that upset them like someone with POCD.
Youtubers are constantly getting accused of doing p*dophilic activity and its making me think my real events are as bad or as worse as them... Ive vented a lot to a lot of people in the PM's about my OCD... some of them younger (minors)... because I wanted reassurance from everyone and anyone... but this situation triggers me the most because I was venting about my 18+ HOCD situations... In an HOCD support group I was in, I vented to 2 minors in the PM's about my 18+ HOCD situations... The leader of the support group (that i vented to) was 17... I was 19 at the time... the other minor i vented to was younger (14-15)... the younger one told me she was uncomfortable when i vented to her in the PM's twice... i stopped and blocked her after she told me the second time... i kept asking the leader of the support group for reassurance for my 18+ HOCD situations for months because she kept giving me reassurance... i thought she was cute but didnt pursue her because of my age... i dont ever want to ever be a P or a MAP or a groomer in any way... I keep getting this gut feeling in my stomach that i "flirted" with the younger one that I vented to, who i blocked after she told me twice she was uncomfortable about me venting about my 18+ hocd situations... i didnt ever vent to them for malicious intent... I was trying to get reassurance for my hocd... Plus my pocd keeps saying I cant have any opinions online because of my pocd and real events ocd situations and that Im not a good person so I cant say anything online... Also i keep getting intrusive thoughts of people labelling me as a P and a MAP in the future because of these pocd real events... And i keep getting intrusive thoughts of being outcasted and "cancelled" online when someone "exposes" me for my POCD and real events OCD...

I never read someone talk about this so I wanted to know if it applies to anyone as well. For context: I deal with ROCD and SOCD but I do identify as straight and am in a (happy) relationship with a man. What often triggers me is memories about childhood and adolescences about having the groinal toward nudity in porn or music videos. Because I can’t deny having watched other things than straight porn and experimenting with porn I simply can’t stop trying to figure out what that might have meant and if i deep down have actually a other sexual orientation than the one that I feel comfortable identifying with. I only hear people talking about random triggers but never the REAL memory of arousal to pornography and so on.
