“Mental” Groinals?

Everyone talks about the physical sensations that come with reacting to sexual content, even if it’s something you do not agree with (like bestiality, pedophilia, or incest). But what about the mental feeling, like when it feels like you liked the thought? I think I might have asked this before, but does anyone else relate? It stresses me out that I have a mental reaction to something of sexual content more than groinals. Anyone else?

I completely get what you mean I’ve been dealing with this for years and it feels like it won’t leave my mind at all I get gronials all the time I can’t deal with this much longer I feel like I’m Just exhausted

I also deal with this you aren’t alone! Makes it feel so much more real which causes more distress… remember OCD will convince you of anything to keep you stuck in the panic cycle☹️

@LizM99 Do you ever feel like this? Sometimes it feels like I want it, like I enjoy it, or even touch my leg like I enjoy the thoughts sexually. My ocd will tell me to make my leg touch for a sexual feeling and in the moment I’ll do it. It feels so real. It’s horrible. You aren’t alone.

@LizM99 But Today I got groinal responses over a child but actually felt genuinely aroused and like I wanted to feel pleasure down there. Usually when going over speed bumps in the car I lift up my bum, but this time the “arousal” over the “child” felt so strong like I wanted them and instead I didn’t lift my bum up when going over bumps, to get a feeling down there. I felt horrible after, but how come I do these actions? Knowing it’ll cause stress after? Can ocd like control your body in this way? It’s so horrible and confusing

@LizM99 Yes, I will confess I was doing compulsions by checking how I felt about a bad thought (replaying it and making it worse) and that’s where I got the sensation of I like this :/ it all just worries me because when I get the “I like this” sensation it doesn’t even feel like I was doing a compulsion anymore yk? It feels like I was replaying it bc I liked it ugh

All the time. Literally all the time. It’s one of the most terrifying aspects of OCD for me. I’m really sorry you deal with this too

Tingling or arousal sensations?

Does anyone else when they have the thoughts, they feel against it, but they still get arousal or tenglings sensations in the groinal area? Because this is what I experienced today and I feel like crap. This is going to be very triggering for a lot of you, but there are a lot of times that I notice things from kids. For example, there is a thirteen year old kid who looks very developed for her age, and I take notice of (and this already sounds creepy to me) her chest. Today with my thoughts, I imagined as if I were touching it, and although I usually "no no or "I don't want to do that", she is a kid, etc., I still get responses in my groinal area, and It felt very real. Even now, I feel as though I am faking it, even though I groan 😮‍💨 from it, and feel as though I am a fraud. Does anyone relate?

Does anyone else experience this?

When I say I feel like I like a thought, I don’t mean the OCD is telling me like a thought or that I concluded that from a physical sensation. I mean, I genuinely feel like something in my brain lights up and it feels like I like it mentally. Whenever I hear people talk about liking thoughts (excitement, arousal), I always see things about groinals or heart flutters. Physical things. I don’t think I really ever see people talk about the mental sensation if this is even a thing. I just wanna know if anyone relates to this or has found an explanation for this because seeing it from an analytical point of view seems to help me sometimes. This is so, *so* especially hard for pocd themed thoughts :( Anyone relate?

i saw an instagram reel and i noticed a disturbing sight of a trigger with a noticeable bottom and the very moment i noticed and compulsively looked to check i felt a groinal response. what does this mean?
