sometimes I find myself looking in the mirror and picturing me a scary images. I’ve never heard voices or anything like that but I was just cleaning and I had all my jeans laid out on the floor and someone convinced me that they were watching me like it sounds so crazy idk how to explain I’m just crying because I feel so insane and detached from reality
Yesterday I was looking at myself in the mirror with my boyfriend laughing because I kept saying I look like Paul Mccartney (ik weird) but as I was looking at myself non-stop I started seeing my eyes grow really large it was strange and scary. But knowing I have anxiety and OCD I rationalized the scary thoughts of hallucinating and going crazy. When you focus on something long enough, be it mentally or visually, it starts distorting, it starts getting scary. That's for EVERYONE, not just mentally ill people. Perhaps you lived something similar? I've had HOCD especially on the mental side for so long I know how you feel. Hope this helps you a bit.
@sillyoverthinker yes !! when someone says I look similar to somebody I can fully hallucinate and make my face shift and freak out
There is a thing as Schizo OCD, which does not mean pure schizophrenia. When you have OCD, it is easy for your mind not only to overthink something that doesn’t technically exist, but it can also be hallucinations. I had the same issue about a year ago. Everything was alright, but suddenly I had visual, audio, and physical hallucinations. After years, I figured that my triggers are usually: being overexcited, intense anxiety, physical exhaustion and lack of nutrition, and being traumatized. A regular person CAN have hallucinations of all kind if triggered. The thing with schizophrenia is that these kinds of things are daily and don’t need triggers. But with OCD, we “overdramatize” and memorize every flaw we have, which will haunt us pretty regularly but not constantly. Please don’t be scared of that. Seeking support from others , and distracting ourselves can help to ease the anxiety. At least it’s been helping me a lot during these moments that rarely happen now. The less we think about it, the better. However, if it gets worse too often or even puts you in real danger- seeks professional help.
Schizophrenic here - you wouldn't be able to choose when you picture imagery if you really were. I have audio hallucinations and they sound like separate people in other rooms, complete with personality and speaking style. It sounds like you're in an anxiety loop. If you truly are worried, go talk to a psychiatrist and ask if they think Seroquel is a good idea. It works for OCD too.
Most purple they actually have schizophrenia aren’t aware they have it so sounds like your in the clear. Paranoia is a symptom in most mental illnesses you just have to decide what you feel is real and what you can push out of your head.

Does anyone feel like they’re losing themselves? I just experienced something really strange and I’m scared I’m actually developing schizophrenia
Anybody struggle with thinking you have schizophrenia or are slowly developing it? Mine just kinda popped up out of the blue today. Idk why I have a sudden feeling that I might hear or see something that nobody else will hear or see. I just feel like I’m stuck in my own head and I might act out of impulse. It’s making me feel anxious, uncomfortable, and worried that something might be wrong with me. I even feel like covering my ears so I can calm myself down with some piece and quiet. Please tell me someone else knows what I’m talking about
Let me start from the beginning. I’m a 26 year old mom, and the other day I was in the store saying my list of things I needed to myself out loud. Then I hear a guy (may 20 years old) say “ma’am are you talking to yourself?” Which I was saying my list. But when I looked at him he was just staring at his girlfriend. Later in the store I came across them in an aisle again and I heard him say “ma’am stop following us” (I totally wasn’t?) but I felt like at that point he was just trying to make his girlfriend laugh because he was saying it in a funny mockery type voice. And never directly to me. Well not long ago I was in the shower and I swore I heard my daughter call my name but when I got out she was still sound asleep in my bed. Then 2 nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night and thought I heard someone humming? So strange!! Then once again YESTERDAY I was in the shower singing to myself (normal enough right?) When I thought I heard someone else singing in the hallway but it also kinda sounded like when my dog is whining. But when I got out my dog was asleep. There was another time as I was falling asleep I thought I heard my own voice saying my name right in my ears! This is driving me insane. I’m terrified I’m schizophrenic. And everything I look up online says this is signs of schizophrenia. Does anyone have any insight? I feel like I’m checking every moment now if every sound I hear is real.
