Having a crush and obsession

Anyone else develop a classic old crush on someone and it becomes unbearably consuming? I wish it could go away. I don’t think I even WANT a relationship with this person. I am not a stalker but I worry this could lead me to become one. My every move and action, I’m just thinking about whether this is something they’d do. I think my compulsion is to look at their social media. It’s been 2 years…. I haven’t been as present in my other relationships. I don’t know why I think so much about this person. We’ve barely even met or know each other, I haven’t seen them in a year. So odd, I feel crazy and weird. I never knew how to talk about this.

I have something similar. When I’m at work i would have intrusive thoughts of men. I felt compelled to do cleaning. Whether it was, visualizing him going away or throwing things that reminded me of him. There’s this basic human need to have a relationship. And in some weird way I was in one with him or at least the thoughts. Feelings of cheating kept coming up and I’d feel guilty. I felt emotionally manipulated. It was a vicious cycle. Intrusive thoughts of him would come back and then I’d feel guilt and then break up with him. But the intrusive thoughts of him would still keep coming back. Same thing I don’t even want a relationship with this person.

@Jaclynmischaleda This is so relatable! I cannot stop visualizing this person and what it would be like if they were here. I can’t do anything without thinking of them. I don’t know how to exist as my own person, my identity is gone. I have no idea who I am when I’m not thinking of them and checking on them ! Thank you for sharing this

Obsessing over coworker for months OCD

You know when you have weird thoughts about a coworker and because you have OCD these thoughts really stick and you panic and feel sick? Yeah that’s me and I’ve struggled with having intrusive thoughts about my coworker and now he just got in a relationship with my coworker and my intrusive thoughts are WORSE I thought they would be better? And initially they were because I was relieved that he couldn’t be weird with me now because he has a girlfriend. But this is the thought that i cannot get over- my OCD is like you’re jealous that he doesn’t like you and he’s not with you instead and i envy this girl he is with. Why the fuck am I having these thoughts while I’m in a healthy relationship and love my boyfriend to DEATH- like I know he is my forever. I couldn’t look at him today because I’ve been obsessing over this thought I’ve had in work and now I have to find a new job I hope no one will judge me for these thoughts or maybe someone has had this weird thought before? :(

Relationship obsessions

I'm struggling really hard with relationship obsessions. Do I really love my partner? How can I know? Am I really just faking it? That kind of thing. It's making my life and relationship a lot harder than they need to be. I could use a few helpful coping mechanisms, trying to move away from less helpful ones like chasing reassurance.

I feel like a cheater, please help :(

I’ve been struggling with something that’s been really overwhelming, and I’m hoping to get some perspective from others here. I feel a lot of guilt about it, and I’m not sure if I’m alone in this experience. Lately, I’ve found myself daydreaming about romantic situations or getting caught up in ‘what if’ scenarios—where I wonder if I could develop feelings for someone else, or if someone develops feelings for me. The thing is, I’m in a relationship that I love, and I don’t want to act on these thoughts at all. What makes it even harder is that these thoughts often hyperfixate on one specific friend, and sometimes they feel entertaining or give me a dopamine rush. But then, of course, I feel even more guilty because it makes me feel like I’m betraying my boyfriend. These thoughts usually happen when I’m upset and looking for comfort, but then they morph into romantic scenarios, which makes me feel so disloyal. I’m constantly going back and forth between feeling curious or entertained by the thoughts and then feeling horrible for even allowing them to happen in the first place. I keep confessing these thoughts to my boyfriend, and he tries to be understanding. He’s just never been the type to daydream, so he doesn’t know if this is something other people experience or if it’s just me. I feel like such an awful girlfriend. Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
