I've been on Trintellix for over two years now and it's honestly the best antidepressant I've been on which says a lot considering how many I've been on over the years... I have atypical depression (post-schizophrenic depression) and can't take traditional SSRIs so this helps the most for me and it does take some of the intensity of anxiety away though I recently had to have an anxiety medication added for frequent panic attacks. All in all, it's been my life saver but everybody reacts differently to medication. I hope it helps you and that you feel some ease soon!

I feel I should also mentioned that my doctor had initially put me on it for both the atypical depression and OCD/anxiety so it's definitely reputable

The nausea is probably the worst. I just upped my dose to 10 yesterday cause I started falling through the cracks on 5 right around 3 weeks.

@Diet Antipsychotics Yeah that’s what I was nervous about. Since it’s typically used for MDD.

I’ve been on it for a few months and have no side effects. It’s expensive, but I find it very easy to tolerate and I feel better on it. Good luck!

Yeah I agree with the expensive thing. It's pretty pricy and I fought hard my new insurance to cover for it but luckily with persistence, full coverage can be possible. I think my case was different because my doctor at the time had to literally write to them saying it was the only thing that has been working for me.

I'm in no way a doctor but I found that taking Trintellix along with some sort of mild anxiety medication was my best option. As for the nausea, make sure you're eating a full meal before taking it. It lessens the chance of feeling sick and absorbs into the body better. I had that same issue but it did get better in time. I'm personally on 20mg but if you can stay on the lower dose, it will be easier on your body but no shame if you need the higher dosage in the future!

Not sure if that will help you with the price, but I only pay 10 bucks because of this coupon. My psychiatrist told me about it.

Thank you; I had no idea about this! I was lucky enough to win against my insurance so I have no copay for it anymore but this is definitely helpful info!

@Diet Antipsychotics Absolutely! There’s tons of weird coupons out there. I’m glad it worked out for you though! That’s awesome.

Hey friends, I hope you all are well. I just wanted to check in and ask people's experiences about being on medication. I have had OCD pretty much my whole life, just got recently diagnosed 4 months ago and my therapist recommended that I get on meds for it so I have a psychiatrist appointment set up. I'm a little apprehensive about getting on them, but I've realized that I do have some sort of chemical imbalance in my brain that plays a part in my OCD and anxiety. I would love to hear anyones experiences or words of encouragement. Thank you, I hope you all are well.

Medication for OCD? Hello all, 19 male here, this seems like a cool community that isn’t nearly as triggering as reddit. I have pretty severe bouts of existential thinking or fear of going crazy ( psychosis ) after some pretty heavy mushroom trips a few years ago, I know logically I should be fine but I do know what it’s like to lose it and it’s scary. Currently I deal with relationship focused OCD, it’s all day from before I even open my eyes. I want things to work out with my girlfriend badly. Also I can come close to a panic attack sometimes which perpetuates everything. Anyway, I mention the fear of going crazy because the way my anxiety/derealization makes me feel is that I’m not mentally stable cause I feel out of it or unreal. I saw that a lot of anxiety and depression medication can cause psychosis and I feel like I could use some help in getting ahead of my OCD because the compulsions are had not to give into when I’m in such distress/not knowing. Plus overall I just feel like I have no idea how I feel about close to anything. Anyone relate about that ?

I just got diagnosed with ocd and she suggested I think about taking lexapro for it. Has anybody tried that and does it help at all?
