i’m sorry you’re going through this. i had a similar, not the same experience but similar. years ago i convinced myself i was pregnant, despite about 20+ negative home tests in a week, a negative test at the doctors, and negative ultrasound. i actually convinced myself one of those tests had a faint line and set myself over the edge. you’re not alone

@mlynnt i really appreciate this. its so hard for me sometimes to rationalize. you didn’t end up being pregnant, right?

@Anonymous876 well, id be due at the end of july. i am still scared. i just got my period yesterday but am still terrified!!! i will update you but im NOT pregnant, ive had everything done and the universe has told me in multiple ways that i am not, so im just moving forward because whatever else happens is out of my control. i did all that i could control. it’s just my OCD doing this to me.

hi! First off, I hope you’re doing okay! assuming from the multiple tests you’ve had performed that reassurance has not been enough for you and has only made it worse , like it usually will. Ocd will try and mimic literally anything if you’re absolutely terrified of it. Yesterday I saw few dead flea like bugs in a vintage vase at a store and I convinced myself I had fleas and my scalp and body began to itch.

I had this same thing happen to me when I was a teenager; I was paranoid that I was pregnant, even though I’d never had sex! OCD is wild and can convince us of so many things, no matter how ridiculous they may seem. However, the only way to fight back is by not engaging in compulsions and accepting uncertainty. Maybe you are pregnant, maybe you’re not. Give NOCD a call for their free consultation. I think they could really help you!

@erinnicole Accepting uncertainty and allowing the discomfort to be there is how you stop engaging with the OCD. Constantly seeking reassurance about whether or not you are pregnant only keeps you locked in OCD’s cycle; it might make you feel better for a minute, but then your OCD will find another way to make you doubt yourself and you’ll be asking for reassurance again.

@Amber R & you could have just said that instead of saying maybe you’re pregnant 😭😭😭😭 like come on now
