Am I a psychopath…?

When I was a kid like 8-9 I had cute aggression and I followed on it and bite my cat and I made him bleed and was rough I did feel bad and didn’t do it again but then I saw somewhere that said if a kid hurt an animal then that means they’ll go on to hurting other people but what I did as a kid I regret and if I could go back in time I would and I wouldn’t now hurt any animal ever or any person. And now I’m scared incase that makes me a psychopath but I wouldn’t hurt any animal yeah I tell my cat to stop licking just cause I can’t stand the sounds of animals licking but I wouldn’t hit them or nothing i love them to bites. does this make a psychopath?… my animals do come to me so they ain’t scared of me as I still have him

Hi! This is reasuring but when we are kids sometimes we don't have the empathy fully developted so it's more likely we hurt others and apparently don't feel anyone . That doesnt make us psychopaths The fact that You are feeling regret right now shows that u are not one, a psychopaths would not feel regret for their actions. Don't worry

@Hashi 🩷 I do regret cause I know if I can go back in time I know I won’t do it and be more carful an nice. But rn I ain’t stressing over it or anything I did speak to my therapist about it a few months ago and I know I wouldn’t hurt no animal right now but because I ain’t feeling any emotion but I know if I could I would chance how I treated. Does that mean I’m a psychopath?

@Hashi 🩷 I mean that if I could go back in time and change what I done I would I would’ve been more carful and I couldn’t have done what I done. But because right now I ain’t stressing about it does that mean I have no emotion and does that mean I’m a psychopath? I know I wouldn’t hurt any animal if I accidentally hurt id panic and make sure they are ok. But when I was a kid I do regret it and I wish I can change it but because I ain’t stressing about it scares me incase that makes me something

@Amonymos’: OOH don't worry this is pretty common,that You are not apparently feeling anything right now doesnt mean You don't regret it or are a psychopaths,sometimes due to stress we experience periods were we feel like we have no emotions and it doesnt mean anything.it doesnt change the fact that You wouldnt do it,it doesnt change the fact that You regret what You have done. You don't need to stress over a mistake forever BC thats only damaging to yourself ,we need to learn to just let go, You don't need to torture yourself to know that u have learned Ur lesson . Don't worry i also felt like that many times

@Hashi 🩷 It does worry me as what I done as a kid to my cat like I bite him and made him bleed I remember feeling bad and cleaned him but more I think back I remember how nasty and rough I used to be and because I see stuff that said if kids hurt an animal then they are more likely going to be psychopaths and that scares me cause I struggle with harm rn and I’m scared incase that’s the psycho I know I wouldn’t hurt no animal or person it does scare me to be a nasty person cause I don’t wanna be that person I will forever want to be a good person. And because right now when I’m getting my harm thoughts and then the past thoughts with my cat I ain’t stressing about them so I’m like does this mean I’m a psychopath like I try to ignore the harm ones cause they BADLY get to me and worry me anf I do regret doing it as a kid I really do and because right now I’ll tell them to no lick cause I can’t stand the sounds of licking it people eating I feel horrible doing that but I wouldn’t dare dare hurt them ever. I just don’t wanna be a bad person

Look You are a good person with really strong values and i can tell just by You telling me all of this ,You are not a psychopath , You clearly don't want to do harm You are just passing through a lot of stress and thats why You arent reacting how You feel like u should react BC of what You have done before,this reaction is normal

@Hashi 🩷 I’m just scared as because I have harm thoughts towards people that’s connected and it mean I’m a psycho like I don’t want to be a bad person I really don’t cause when j first got these thoughts I got my self straight into therapy and because the thoughts I did have gone and now they gone onto strangers it scares me but I’m tying to ignore them and move on with my day but now that I had mention the past and then the harm I’m like is this connected am I getting these thought cause what I done in the past and would that make me… just biggest fear cause I don’t wanna hurt nobody or anything ever.

The whole definition of a Psychopath-a person having an egocentric and antisocial personality marked by a lack of remorse for one's actions, an absence of empathy for others, and often criminal tendencies(merriam webster dictionary) the fact that you feel so guilty about it is the only proof you need. Psychopaths can't feel. I used to squeeze kittens cuz I thought their mews were cute.. I was like 3, I had NO IDEA i was actually hurting them. I feel SO AWFUL about it now but kids are stupid and do stupid things. So can let yourself off the hook, you feel, therefor you physically can't be a psychopath.

@TexasOCD41 I was like 8-9 I should’ve known. I was so horrible I bite my cat front eh cutest and was just so so nasty and rough. And because I have harm thoughts I’m scared incase now that’s realised to the past and that actually means I’m a psychopath. I know as an adult I wouldn’t lay a finger on any animal or any person I don’t want to hurt anyone and if I can go back in time I would and stopped my self. I feel horrible doing what I don’t want I don’t want to be a mad person

Your brain is telling you that biting a cat’s ear when you are 8 means you are a psychopath. If this is something your brain keeps going back to, it’s likely because there is a part of you that thinks it is true, and a part of you that thinks it’s false. Why would our brain keep asking ourselves if something is false? 1) You have OCD 2) It is bogus enough that we keep questioning it over and over. Therapy and related exposure is what helps most and I don’t want to give you any reassurance.

@Ad485 I’m scared incase it means I’m a psychopath cause I did such horrible things to my cat and I regret it. I wouldn’t hurt no animal . And because I have harm ocd I’m thinking is it linked does that mean I’m a pycho? It scares me cause I don’t want to be horrible person I’ll always always wanna be a nice person that’s nice to people etc I don’t wanna be a pycho.

@Amonymos’: You need to re-read what I said is the definition of a psychopath. Psychopaths CANT FEEL FEELINGS they don’t feel fear, guilt, remorse, empathy, regret. You worrrying about being a psychopath is a contradiction in terms. Worry is a feeling… there you literally can’t be one

Extreme guilt about being violent with sibling.

My brother and I (I’m 20, he’s 16 but he’s taller and heavier than me) used to get violent with one another. I had anger issues growing up in an angry home (our dad was just like this), and I would yell and shout a lot, and we’d get into physical fights. I’ve been a LOT better about it over the past few years especially since I moved out to college, but yesterday as I was laying on the couch healing from my wisdom teeth extraction, he started hitting me with a plushie and then wiped his boogers on it. I tried really hard to ignore him but he just kept going and going, and then i tried to leave the room but he followed me and kept bothering me. I finally slapped him, he punched me with what felt like full force in the back (causing me to tear up from the pain), and I ended up scratching him so hard that it left a big mark. He punched me in the back again really hard and I ended up just crying. I now feel really really really horrible. We talked it out and both apologized and said we loved each other. But now i’m really worried. I’m concerned that I’m an abusive monster, that I have a personality disorder, that I’ve traumatized him over the years. I don’t know if these sorts of fights are normal between siblings or if there is something seriously wrong with me. Things like this have happened before. I keep googling scary things.

Having a recurring intrusive thought that im evil bc when i was 14 i was dog sitting and I was told by the owner to tug on the dogs leash when he would stop walking to keep him moving. Well I did that and he was very stubborn so I remember tugging harder than I should have out of impatience which makes me hate myself so much. The problem is I can’t remember the specifics of the memory like how hard it was or if he was hurt. I do remember him coughing which is terrifying. Like half a year later he passed away and I’m always scared that I hurt him. He was old and I hate myself for being so impatient. I just wish I could remember correctly. How do I live with myself?

I’m a true monster

I (15m)am seeking advice because I believe I may have a false memory OCD. I am worried that I may have sexually harmed people without realizing it, especially my young cousins. I am also concerned that I may be a pdophile as i think im aroused by kids but idk if its kids or the idea of s*x. I believe my exposure to explicit content at a young age may have also given me hypersexuality, which still affects me.I feel guilt too because when i was younger i did cocsa against my younger brother he doesn't remember it but i do and i'm just scared what if i did other bad things like that. I do not want to use this as an excuse for my actions at age 14 when I made sexual advances/jokes towards my friends, causing them discomfort and harm. Some forgave me saying they didn't care about it now, but one friend ended our relationship due to my inappropriate behavior during a game and is scarred/traumatized and doesn't even want to look at me i tried to tell him i'm sorry but he doesn't really want me talking to him ever again. I am filled with guilt and shame for my actions and consider turning myself in as a result. The idea that I may have harmed someone without remembering it terrifies me, and I struggle to forgive myself for the pain I have caused others. I'm scared to even encounter people I hurt. I'm a monster that deserves to be beat up/ publicly hurt as most pdos/ s*x offenders do.
