Any Christians can help?

Okay so there has been something I have been worrying about, about myself that I dont know if it’s true or not but I know I don’t want it to be true so I asked god to give me a sign that what I’m worrying about isn’t true cause it is terrifying me I mean worrying me from the time I get up to the time I go to bed it’s horrible anyways I keep seeing stuff when watching tv that I’m worrying is the signs but it’s not signs like I asked for what I’ve seen and heard is sounds similar to what I’m not wanting it to be and I don’t want it to be true so I’m scared that, that is the signs from god but if it is then he’s worrying me cause I asked for it not to be true and if that’s the signs then that would be telling me what I’m worrying about is true and I don’t want it to be all I asked for was a sign for it to not be true and now after hearing all that I’m scared he’s telling me that it is true and it just has my anxiety Bad and I can’t stop worrying about it sorry it’s hard to explain but I had to ask someone cause I can’t tell

Hey there! I’m also a Christian and I can see where you’re coming from. I’ve struggled with this from time to time and one thing that I always keep in mind is that God is not someone who is out to make you feel anxious. The thing with anxiety is that it creates a feedback loop and gets us stuck in our head. It becomes very difficult to discern what is reality and what is not reality. Rather than ask for a sign, you can try praying that God will give you relief and peace. He is the God that is with you in your anxiety, not the one giving it to you. And if you have a community to reach out to- do it! Hope this helps, and if not, I’m still praying for you!

I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but I'm going to try because I've been in this place too... Sometimes our anxiety tricks us into using prayer as a tool of our confirmation bias. When I'm in this space, try to acknowledge that even if God is speaking to me, I'm going to miss the message because my mind already has so much noise. So I try to reground myself in the reminders that God wants me to live life abundantly (John 10:10) and that He doesn't want me to live a life of fear and worry (Matt. 25-34). Then I pray about what's worrying me (I view prayer as a form of mindfulness and meditation) and visualize putting those worries in a box and handing them to Him. How effective this is depends on how deep in a spiral I am -so I'm working on recognizing my thoughts faster and then leaning into the trust part of my faith. I also received guidance from my Pastor that God can handle our tough emotions too, so if you're angry or frustrated you can tell him that too. Sometimes it's the naming it and getting it out of your head that helps. Sending you love and I hope some part of this helped. 💞

I know what you mean. It would certainly be easier to counsel you, if we knew exactly what it is, but I can tell you that I've noticed OCD try to trick me with half truths. So, knowing God's word first hand (by reading it) has been very helpful in debunking the lies.

what’s been super helpful for me is this: God does not need to torture His creation to get their attention. He created you so intentionally. He knows you perfectly. It is no surprise to Him that you struggle with this, and He is kind. so assuredly, He would never use what you struggle with to speak truth to you. God would never, ever tease you.

(Pocd) Please help me!!! I'm a Christian and as i've mentioned before Ive had mind chatters where i tell God to confirm if im a pedo or not by me hearing about a pedo getting delivered (and it actually happened because a user on here who's a good friend of mine shared a story about that!!!) And ive also mind chattered to Him to lemme know thru a dream and it just happened too!!!. I literally feel hot right now and I feel so much doom because I just woke up and dreamt something about a paper like a test having the word pedophilia in it I think it asked "do you have pedophilia?" with a fill in the blanks answer and the word "truth" was written as the answer ? these are just too much coincidences for it to not be God actually telling me. As we Christians know, there are no coincidences in God and that scares me even more!!. I always tell Him " don't listen to my mind chatters you know they don't come from the heart!! The reason I mind chatter about things is because I'm scared of them actually happening!" But now I'm starting to think my mind chatters are so much more meaningful than i thought. Maybe it wasn't even a dream and I just pictured it while being asleep and awake at the same time since my ocd thoughts wake me up night sometimes? Or am I just in denial to try to calm myself down? Omg how can I forget about all this I really don't wanna relapse ...

Can someone just read this? I'm starting to get really afraid this is true. This whole thing is terrible like hell. What scares me even more is I learned some tricks to decrease the thoughts and they have worked but the groinal response is still there and it's terrible. Last night I was watching TV despite the anxiety and tried not responding to the thoughts anxiety or the response. Leading up to the terrible response I was thinking of a attractive woman about 5 seconds before it happened. Then a close-up of a fellow male popped up on a commercial. A little blood went down there. Not enough to even change its size but it scared the shit out of me. Was it me thinking about that woman? Increased blood flow from Anxiety? I turned off the TV and my hands started shaking, shaking has been a recent product of this. The thought of being with a man especially sex is still revolting to me through the entirety of this. ( If I offended anyone I didn't mean too ). I've been in relationships with women and loved it, I have always enjoyed sex with women. But what's up with the groinal response bullshit? All I've ever wanted is a wife and kids and I feel it's being ripped from me. I really hope this is OCD. People here have gone over 15 years with this and I can't take five months? I can barely take this anymore. I want to be myself again. Is that too much to ask God?

Someone plz talk to me :(

I keep randomly getting scary evil/ demonic images or thoughts in my head. I can’t specifically describe how or what they are but I just feel scared & unsettled I feel like I’m possessed or that a devil is controlling my mind or something! I’m catholic I haven’t really been that religious but I’ve been so scared that I started praying to feel better and I feel like I need to pray to make whatever this is go away. I never believed in possession I’m more of a scientific based person however I’ve reached the point where my beliefs aren’t firm anymore I feel scared I don’t know what to believe it’s like I’m slowly believing my mind is being controlled I’m scared :( is something severely wrong with me? Is possession / devils real? Do I have a severe mental illness am I going crazy / developing psychosis or becoming delusional?? :(
