Desperate for Medication Advice ?

My OCD has gotten better, at least as good as it can get, but my depression has been awful lately. I take 100mg of Zoloft, and I feel as though I’m going backwards. It’s helped my anxiety a ton, but it feels as if it’s made my depression worse. I spoke with my PCP, and she recommended adding 75mg of Wellbutrin. I’m picking it up today. I’m hoping this can help me. If not, I’ll switch everything and start taking Luvox. It’s so annoying trying to find the right meds when you’re already struggling. Anyone else taking Wellbutrin in combination with another med ?

have you taken a genesight test? it basically tells you what meds work best for you. i had a horrible reaction to prozac and the test basically told me that i shouldn’t take it. alternatively it said lexapro would work okay but not great (accurate) and it said that pristiq was my best option (it works like a charm). i’ve been recommending this test to everyone now. if i had taken it before being prescribed prozac it could have saved me a lot of trouble. def ask your PCP about it.

@elsietee I agree. Get the test if you can. I had amazing results with prozac and came to say that. I had a terrible reaction long term to wellbutrin and they were not suddenly onset symptoms so i couldn't tell how bad it was until i got off. I could not sleep to save my life on Wellbutrin. But i know people who have great results. Everyone is different

okay prozac was a no for me, but my body doesn’t do well with any ssri and i’ve taken a bunch including zoloft. what changed my life was getting off of anxiety meds and getting on wellbutrin and lamictal (mood stabilizer) everyone is different but i experienced a lot of racing thoughts and anxiety whilst taking prozac

@bdads27 I had the complete opposite reaction! I had terrible reactions to both Wellbutrin and lamictal separately!!

Medication and OCD

I’ve tried both Prozac and Zuloft to help treat my OCD and neither has worked. I was on 80mg of Prozac and now 150mg of Zuloft but have felt little to no difference. Is there a better medication anyone can suggest? Thanks

Prescribed meds today

I was prescribed Fluvoxamine today. I hope it works. At first she wanted to put me on Wellbutrin, as it’s a much easier medication to tolerate. But I told her I had done research in Fluvoxamine since it’s specifically made to treat OCD. She scared me when she said it’s not prescribed as often because of the side effects. She called it a “harder drug.” I didn’t really like hearing that. We had it filled anyway but now I’m just scared to take it because of course I’ve been online reading negative reviews. Hope I didn’t make a mistake. Maybe I should have stuck with the Wellbutrin.
