I feel exactly the same. Because mine aren’t really physical

@<3 :) Mental compulsions are still compulsions. They’re just harder to notice. Mental compulsions come with Pure O ocd meaning ‘pure obsessive ocd’ where the compulsions are mental and are hard for people to recognise

@<3 :) That would make it a lot harder to notice. Definitely

I'd recommend ERP, I generally just ruminate based on my intrusive thoughts and those turned out to be compulsions too, so my ERP focused on not ruminating .

@<3 :) Yeah, same here. It is difficult to deal with. You got the right idea.

@<3 :) Ruminating + non-physical compulsions can be hard for non-OCD trained therapists to spot. I didn’t realize I was ruminating or what it was until I started therapy here. But just because you aren’t doing anything physical doesn’t mean you aren’t doing compulsions. I’d recommend giving NOCD a call and doing their free consultation. They will ask you questions + see if you meet the criteria for treatment. I know it’s scary, but recovery is possible!

Feel guilty for not giving into compulsions like rumination and confessing? I feel guilt for having an intrusive thought, trying to shrug it off or just giving it a few seconds of thought and moving along. This sounds like improvement but I still struggle with the anxiety and the guilt. The shame. I’ll be okay and then I’ll remember I have OCD and my stomach will drop and I just want to curl up and cry.

Help me! I acted on a compulsion and now I feel like want to keep doing it. I’m scared. I had been doing okay for these past two days but idk. What should I do?

I’ve noticed that I’m somewhat happier also ignoring my thoughts than I am instead of doing compulsions (I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired atp) but I’ve heard you’re technically supposed to do erp rather than pushing under the rug. But idk if I have a thought I just refuse to think about it again and im fine even if I want to do compulsions
