Anyone else have symptoms of ADHD as well who was diagnosed with OCD?
Help! I need help from someone who suffers from ROCD. I’m scared that I will never know if I want to promise forever to my partner.
Someone try and help. My worry is people think I'm a pedo when I'm not and that I'll get sent to prison when I'm innocent I've never harmed a child and never would. I worry I make even the child itself uncomfortable because when stuff like toilet habits are mentioned I go bright red and panicky cause I look shifty, and imagine if a parent asked their child if someone touched them inappropriately, they might find it funny and joke around saying yes and now I'm super worried that this post will make people think I'm a pedo but I swear on God's name I've never harmed a child and never plan on doing so. I fucking hate ocd so much I can't live a normal life, I can't stop thinking the worst possible situations and scenarios.
does anyone find that sometimes reassurance can push you in the right direction? i got reassurance in the sense that i knew for a fact something i worried about wasn’t true so then afterwards i disregarded and i feel great. i decided not to analyse it and leave it be and it feels better
Hey guys new to this so maybe someone out there might have the same thing and can help me. I have been a EMT for a year and half now but toke a leave of absence due to my anxiety and OCD recently flared up. Due two events I the first was that when I was walking with my family I saw a needle now the floor and it didn’t really bother me then and then in another event when I was cleaning the ambulance stretcher I saw another one and got close to it. Since then I had got check because my OCD was acting up about that and had to get check to make my self happy about that. That was a few months ago and last month I was changing the garage at my job (coffee shop) and a straw hit me and it kinda flared up my OCD again and now I think there are needle everywhere and every-time I see my body I think I see something wrong with me. And I am always sacred that I can give something to my family. It’s been bothering me a lot so wanted to see if anyone has the ame thoughts are something like it.
How do I know if it’s ocd or if i really want to be trans ?
my biggest obsession is about possibly being racist (i’m confident that i’m not racist). it was germ fear before, but that has subsided and now im obsessed with not being racist. can anyone relate? how do you deal with socially-driven obsessions? i have invasive thoughts whenever i’m around anyone who isnt a close friend.
POCD TW. Need some help. Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well as of lately. I’ve been doing ~decent~ better than I was say 4-5 months ago. Due to the Lexapro I’ve been on it’s definitely made a dent. But everyday is still a struggle. Lately I feel as if I’m faking all of my POCD. Everything started with one particular child. I don’t know exactly what, but it started to make me feel like I had feelings or something like that. I hated it. I’ve been an anxious mess since. The thing that’s bothering me is I don’t see much online about people’s OCD particularly targeting one person. I also have it about other children in general. But it’s heavily influenced by one. There is an hour that goes by that I’m not thinking something about the child, sexual or not sexual it can just be general things. My thoughts tell me I want to be around this child, they tell me to walk by her so she will notice me. I hate this and want this to end. I want to go back to myself in September when I was going on dates with girls my age, and thinking about that. I would NEVER hurt a child. Never wanted too. I just need support. I went to a OCD specialist back in January who told me she definitely thought I had OCD. I haven’t been able to go back because of my work schedule. But I want too. I just want to feel normal. Can anyone relate? Idk. I’m just depressed again.
I washed clothes in the washer and put it in drier.. now i am getting thoughts were clothes washed? Its top load maytag machine and gets locked while washing. It gets unlocked only when done? Am I right?
I've had every ocd there is, even transgender ocd. I thought to myself, maybe I want to be a guy, cause I thought I was a lesbian and thought being a man would be easier. But I'm really really feminine ? I also worried people would think I'm a hermaphrodite, has anyone else had this? I worry that some people think I'm a man secretely, and again I'm a really feminine woman. I don't wear thrilly dresses but I wear makeup and tight fitting clothes. I like perfume. I'm not even remotely the opposite sex ?
I can never stop thinking about a relationship that ended 2 years ago. We didn’t even date for that long and I’m in a very happy loving relationship now but the OCD just latches onto that one relationship and everytime I wake up until the moment I go to sleep, I think about him and that relationship; the ins and outs and it’s downfall and how it came to be and I don’t know WHY. I don’t feel anything for this man anymore but this thoughts won’t stop and I just don’t understand why. Anyone relate? I’m suffering so bad. I just want peace from this awful illness.
Is it really possible, m standing.. little bend to put paper on toilet seat before usage.. my hairs almost tied up.. and suddenly i felt what if my hairs touched toilet seat or inside.. my height is 5.4 is it really possible? and if it happens will i know it or it can just happen without me feeling anything ...? I
I used toilet seat in the office, before usage i spread some toilet paper on seat. For that I have to bend ofcourse, now i feel what if my hairs(which were kinda tied) got touched to toilet seat or little inside. These thought killing me. Plz help
Just posted this on my Facebook and thought I’d share it here too incase anyone needed a little hope that things will get better... “Don’t want to come across as pretentious or whatever but I seriously can not recommend my little Eny enough. Never did I ever think I’d feel proud of myself or feel enough self worth to put myself first in situations let alone feel genuinely happy again. But I’m actually really proud of myself and how far I’ve come. I’m not fully there yet, still driving in this mental health journey and probably will be for the rest of my life but at-least now I’ve got hold of the steering wheel instead of being sat in the back seat. Fucking self love guys, it’s fucking great. ? *returns to hippy hole now after that lame ass metaphor* ?” - Eny is my therapist, I started with her in December, extremely fed up, emotional, depressed, no hope left and I had self harmed for the first time in 4 years two months before seeing her and was crying for help from my nhs mental health service and was getting nowhere, just ‘see you next months’. I took the decision to pay privately for therapy. I was terrified to do so as I’m no millionaire. I live on my own, in a just above minimum wage job and didn’t want to be getting into debt or anything for another therapy not to work. And private therapy isn’t always the answer many have had positive experiences with nhs services but I had tried two and I just wanted to get better already. But I have used holiday pay and still worked, I’ve worked any extra shift I can get and ensured I have a therapy money box to be able to go. It’s now May, I’ve gone from counting down the days to the weekly therapy so I can confess behaviours and thoughts to deciding to see her fortnightly and almost forgetting today’s session because I’ve been managing so much better than I ever have in the nearly 5 years I’ve been dealing with this illness. I still struggle. I have major set backs that can take me a few weeks to get over. I still do rituals everyday to varying degrees. And I probably will all my life. But I no longer feel daunted by the idea of having this illness at all let alone potentially forever. I no longer feel like the worst person ever who was sick and disturbed like I’d always been made to feel. I feel in control, I’m aware they are thoughts everyone has but my brain decides to linger on them and create rituals to ease anxiety of them. Some days I can not do a ritual and feel fine, other days I have to do that same ritual and still feel anxious after doing it. But tomorrow’s a new day, I can try and conquer the fear again then. My mindset has completely changed. Sometimes I feel I am more selfish. But it’s not a nasty selfish. It’s a self love kind of selfish. I am able to stick up for myself against members in my life who doubt my progress or expect me to be ‘healed’ because there’s nothing to be healed from, there’s nothing wrong with me. My brain is reacting to fear. They just don’t understand the fear like I do. Where as before I would be so effected by these comments I would doubt it to and give up and feel like I was stuck in this rut. But I’m not in a rut. I am battling an illness and sometimes that illness is winning, but it is no longer always winning. I went to my therapist with no self worth. I didn’t feel like I had a sense of identity. I felt I was just my ocd. I’m not, I am becky who has ocd, who is tackling ocd, who is managing ocd. Whilst therapy isn’t always for everybody I highly recommend it because I wouldn’t have ever thought I’d be able to feel this way in December
UPDATED VERSION, MAYBE SAVE THIS TO RE READ. TRIGGER WARNING. This is a list of all the OCD'S I can think of. Please feel free to add to any in the comment section below. I don't go through each compulsion to get rid of the thoughts, but I go through most of the obsessions. I hope this one day helps at least one person, to know that they are not a weirdo. OCD is a recurring thought (obsession), that you try to prevent, or get rid of the anxiety about (compulsion), e.g, checking your mind to make sure you didn’t do a criminal act, or checking everyone is okay to make sure you didn’t kill, assault, offend, or hurt them, or checking they are okay with you so you know you didn’t cause them to doubt how lovely you deep down know you are, because of how strange you acted when certain things were brought up in conversation. Checking your body for any sexual feelings about intrusive thoughts you wish you didn’t have because you can’t get rid of them. All of these thoughts make you doubt who you are, you get urges to do things which you know you wouldn’t ever want to do because for one, it’s disgusting, and horrendous, and for two, it would fuck your life up. OCD latches onto anything that could fuck your life up. Making you doubt who you are and question how much prevention you need to take.Even the kindest, yes, one of the kindest OCD thoughts, like “If I don’t tap the candle someone in my family is going to die and it will be all my fault”, can make you question how much control you actually have. The worst possible things that could happen from doing some of these things (we won’t, I’m just saying this because the scarier the worst possible scenario, the more the intrusive thoughts keep popping up), is we would lose our family and friends and get sent to prison and the death penalty would come to England and we’d be put to death. But to be honest, actual prison is better than the prison that lives in our minds. And death is something that happens to us all eventually anyway. It's OCD guys, stay strong!

Two rounds of CBT and an intensive treatment, yet I’m still on the severe end of OCD. Is there any hope?
Hello, I’m a 22 year old female, before last week I was happy with everything in my life OCD hadn’t been playing up for a long time (last spike was me fearing that I was a Psychopath) I’m in a relation with a guy whom I LOVE! I’ve always been with guys and had feelings for guys ever since I can remember, last week one day I was watching something on my phone and BOOM - I thought am I attracted to butch females?! It’s not left my head I’m constantly searching on google and hear, I fear that I get arousal feelings so I constantly search girls to see if I do! I broke down the other day to the doctors and they said that if I was gay you’d know from a young age! Please can someone help me, I’m tired and I want this to stop I love my boyfriend and I want children of my own!
