My husbands phone got a text from an app called IRL which is apparently an app geared toward teens. It said he was “sent a compliment”. After doing research it looks like someone has to share their contacts info within the app that’s how you get a text. But it sent me in a panic. My ocd is thinking did he give his number out to someone? A teenager? Has he done something bad? I hate this. I feel like every time I turn around there is something else.

I’ve been diagnosed with OCD but I don’t have these intrusive thoughts like everyone else...so I’m convincing myself I don’t really have OCD I struggle I guess with rOCD (and more)...I guess I always check to see if a person texted me back. I blow up the persons phone until they respond. I use to have it really bad where I had so much anxiety if I didn’t do it and so much anxiety if I did. When guys leave me....I freak out and have damn near a heart attack from panicking so much. And once I get this thought in my head whether it’s “you should’ve said this” or “he probably lied to you when he said this” or whatever there’s this feeling in my body. It’s like an uncomfortable negative vibe and that thought becomes priority. I have to do it. I have to text them and it’s hard to think of anything else. And when I do it doesn’t stop so i shouldn’t give in but sometimes I do. And if I get over that thought later another might replace it and it starts again. Anybody else feel this way...?

I haven’t found ANYONE with the same “tics” as me. Feels really lonely over here. Just to start with one, does anyone have to breathe in while counting and blinking while they look at something they need or want and have to breathe out while counting and blinking when they see something bad or negative? This one is so exhausting! Makes me too aware of my breathing and makes me feel like I’m going to die from not breathing right.

I don’t know how much longer I can cope with this ?

How long have you struggled with OCD? My first memory of intrusive thoughts and constantly rechecking stuff is from around third grade. Around sixth-seventh grade it got really bad, though. I was constantly confessing to every bad thought and action I had ever done. Then I got really bad intrusive thoughts about harming myself/others alongside sexual ones. It continued like this for a while, although I stopped confessing. It wasn’t until 11th grade it really started flaring up again, and I was eventually diagnosed this year.

I am a recent college graduate currently looking for my first career job. In most of the applications I have submitted there is a question that asks if you have any disabilities, and it lists OCD. I was just curious if anyone has experience with this, and how they answer this question. Has anyone experienced discrimination because of their OCD, any positive interactions? Is this just another tactic employers use to try and narrow down the applicant pool?

What is the longest period of time you have been symptom free? I was symptom free for 6years in between flares. I know it’s possible and I know I can’t be the only one who has experienced that wonderful period of calm.

Is this really all ocd... I can’t sleep I can’t eat. I just think all day..

I just broke down crying because I’m so wracked with fear. It was bad. I feel like I could pass out.

Guys, harm ocd hit me so hard yesterday. I haven’t dealt with this In years. I know I got trigger watching a video and it was like a chick who killed her boyfriend and I can’t even look at my husband right now with out wanting to lock myself in a room so I can’t be around him. For some reason any rationalizing isn’t helping at the moment and I just want to go back to how I was 4 days ago when shit like this never crossed my mind. I feel like a monster and I can’t tell him. And I tell him everyone of my themes. Guys I need some help right now

What are false attractions like for everyone else? Here’s how mine go, they’re either groinal responses which are normal and I try not to give TOO much meaning to, but the one that fucks me up the most is when, I see a girl and I get a sensation in my stomach kinda like butterflies when you have a crush, but then I start panicking, they’re just sensations just bc I have no desire to be intimate with them or anything, but it’s tingling sensations throughout my body and stuff too and that drives me crazy. Ik my brain is doing a false alarm thing just bc it’s just a sensation and if I did have a crush I would know ?. But yeah that’s how mine are.

Does anyone suffer from Schiz OCD. Where you obsess about possibly being schizo

does anyone have separation anxiety as well? it often makes me feel guilty for leaving my sister or my mum etc alone in the house in case something bad happens to them and then i would blame myself for not being there to save them. any suggestions would really help?

I am having such a hard day. The thoughts and anxiety are so loud today. I can’t stop crying.

Hey! Does anyone have OCD regarding having a personality disorder such as Narcissistic PD etc?

My contamination ocd has gotten so bad its currently making me have meltdowns 24/7 and its got me to the point where I’m thinking im done with trying because I cant seem to find any therapists that do erp in my city. The only ones that are “close” are 2 hours away so it makes it impossible for me to do therapy with them.

I’m confused an a bit angry. I met with a new therapist today and my insurance hasn’t allowed me to get someone who understands pure O and who is knowledgeable about ERP. This woman was a CBT and told me that wheneve I have an intrusive thought to deny it and tell myself that I’m a good person and to reassure myself. I tried to explain that that in itself is a compulsion for people at Pure O but she kept coming back to it. My gut is telling me she’s wrong because the times I was panicking And would try to rationalize it like she told me to the thoughts would only get worse. I told her that I used to be worried about harming people and have been listening to podcasts about serial killers as an exposure and how it’s working and I’m not having a problem with it anymore and she told me to take a break from that as if it was unhealthy. I told her I’d appreciate it to research ERP as a I left, and was willing to give her another chance but as soon as I told my parents about what she said they flipped out on me and told me I’m being picky and am unopen to options other than ERP. Am I being crazy or picky ??? I’m so confused

I know I’m posting a lot today but I’m having a rubbish time. Does your ocd ever make you feel as though you really want to be that thing your obsessing over? Like today I’ve been able to say “I’m gay” and get almost a good feeling from it which worries me.

Im thinking about starting medication soon bc college is about to start and i don’t wanna be having these anxiety attacks due to OCD on top of anxiety from school stress. Im just worried about the side effects. If school starts at the beginning of next month, do you think it’s too late to start meds (like do u think the side effects will carry into college)?

!NOTE! READ BELOW. HI EVERYONEEEEE ? - I just want you all to know that we need to cheer up! Let’s stop focusing on the bad things about our illnesses and let’s focus on the good.? Talking about a bad experience will not help you in anyway, even though it’s okay to sometimes because GUILT is a HUMONGOUS part of OCD. We need to take that love with no where go, and put it in positivity and the good things that happen in our lives. - Ever since this “ Group “ part of NOCD started I’ve noticed people like to talk about their bad experiences but we need to change. This needs to be a positive part of this app. Not somewhere to read bad experiences. - I will start by saying; TODAY I showered, I washed my my favourite pair of Pyjamas. ( So they will be nice and clean for tonight ? ) I was sick today but managed to still get these things done. I FaceTimed my best friend for about an hour. I ate Chinese, and I made Kraft Dinner. Also later I’ll be playing with my NEW son TINY. ?❤️ Your turn guys! ?
