Where shall I go therapist or police, I’m convinced I raped somebody but nothings came of it
I’m too tired to write but, I’m stressing over the fact I will be alone forever and my ocd with ruin everything. My mind is a wreck! I want to be happy and have a good future but idk if that’s possible. I want a husband and kids but I’m so confused!!!!!!! I don’t know what to do! I’m having the worst anxiety. Plus since Valentine’s Day is coming up I’m getting more and more upset. Because I want a boyfriend but I just can’t imagine myself in a relationship!
Does anybody else feel like there are a lot of resources to deal with our OCD during a relationship, but not after a break up?
I’ve never been under anesthesia, i’m 19 and I should be getting my wisdom teeth removed, I am supposed to call the oral surgeon, but I still haven’t called after two months of getting my referral, for a few reasons. 1. I think i will die or suffer from serious complications/ be able to feel everything but not be able to move, almost like sleep paralysis, because that type of thing has happened before, only in redheads… I am not a redhead. Just the impeding doom it feels like a possibility. 2. Who will take me/drive me home while i’m coming out of the anesthesia and possibly saying silly things. I don’t want anyone to see me in a state i’ve never been in before. I feel like i’m going to say horrible things that are either directed at the person who is caring for me, or just in general. Even sexually explicit/ morally wrong/ flat out disturbing. If my boyfriends take me what if I tell him I don’t love him ( I do). What if I say something sexual that could be offensive, like sexual acts with other people? (I’ve never done/Will never do). I can’t have my mom take me cause she would hold those things against me for however long it felt right to her. Etc. My teeth are suffering and the anxiety of the what ifs eat me alive every time I think about it. To me this feels extremely vulnerable and it makes me more uncomfortable than anything to not be in control of my words. My sister specifically is an example that makes me feel these things. She told me that our mother said to her when she was healed from getting her wisdom teeth out that my sister said something so bad that my mother said she would never repeat it. Which is very out of character for my mother. And my sister and I are almost positive what she said was a sexual connotation. Has anyone else had this experience?
I’m not sure if I have OCD, but recently I’ve been feeling uncomfortable/uneasy when things don’t go as planned or when someone breaks the rules or if things needed to be a certain way. It would be the littlest thing that goes differently then what I thought would happen it brings out a lot of anxiety and the feeling of being uncomfortable also I feel very overwhelmed/stimulated. I’ve also developed a constant thought of death and how we are all going to die one day feels like an obsession at this point and it keeps me up, drives me crazy. Is this ocd?
I feel I r*ped someone so people felt sorry for me, what is wrong with me
Hello! I am new to the app and I struggle with Trichotillomania. This has caused my every day life to be a struggle and also upsets me because I used to have very long, thick hair. My hair is now very thin and will not grow. I also have lost the majority of my eyebrows and eyelashes and I now use false lashes/makeup to cover up my hair loss. I have struggled with this disorder for a couple of years now and have tried many coping strategies, but none seem to work. I want my hair back, please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to cope with this disorder!
So I’m in college. A FineArts major who’s a sophomore to be exact. And it’s fine, it’s as stressful as you’d expect it to be. But I had gotten this massive massive burnout. As no matter where I sit or sit I cannot for the life of me write or draw what I used to on my own. It feels like a chore. And even more than that, burnout. I’m scared I hate what I do, and I’ve abandoned my love for art. Which I know isn’t true because I still want to draw and create and write. But my mind just won’t let me think. What’s going on with me? Is this normal in college?
I always come on here to read but never write. Sometimes tho, I think life reminds you to be grateful for how far you come. So I thought I’d share some things that have helped me with my journey of understanding ocd if anyone needs that glimmer of hope. - Supplemention not for everyone ofc but when I was dying on the floor last year. A supplement called Sam-e which had studies showing it can help with ocd has changed my life. It helped me separate my thoughts from myself more and made me feel sane and very stable. Highly recommend also gaba and Nac have done wonders. -Overstimulation This big them for me lately but when I’m scrolling on tiktok or constantly on electronic. I feel like it makes me very wired and super overstimulated which makes me get more worked up when thoughts and feelings arise. Anxiety is caused of overstimulation of body when too much energy is present it starts producing thought. So when I limit it and try to keep present in what in my day, I find myself stable. -Sleep This goes hand with overstimulation, your body and mind work best when it’s calm not when it’s over energized trust me. -meditation I find this very overlooked. Buddhist thought meditation has helped me in those moments where I feel myself spiraling. 10 to 15 mins can make it all go away. -present This one changed so much of my perspective. I never really understood when people would say look at what’s real around you, I even doubted that. But one day I was going thru tough theme and I remember saying I’m in a car right now with my legs crossed starting out the window driving thru my town listening to Fred again having thought about ***** and it’s making me feel ****. Something about naming as many things as you can and really grounding yourself can sometimes snap you back into reality. A good book called untethered soul really dives into understanding of presence and thought being observed but not absorbed. -Let it be I never really understood the when ppl said tell the thought if it happens it be ok. That one never worked for me. But letting it be did. I could have a really scary thought, to me it’s more like a mind wired thought it feels like. That’s where the need to fix or solve is and I just let my mind repeat the thought and do absolutely nothing. I’ll be very conscious of doing nothing back and really feeling those body feelings get anxious and worried and they learn to let themselves go. Nothing always the best. Well I don’t wanna make this post too long so I’ll stop there atm. But remember that everyone journey different, be patient and walk in strength and pride. You are loved even if you can’t see, feel or hear it. Just know.
Anyone ever have anxiety so intense you are on the verge of tears around people? Lately my anxiety has been so debilitating. As soon as I wake up, my ROCD thoughts are racing, until I go to sleep. Honestly, I am getting tired of fighting this anxiety, 24/7. This OCD and anxiety is taking away any pleasure or peace I used to feel. Going on day 7 tomorrow morning. This isn't a life to live at all, nobody knows I'm struggling, not even my girlfriend.
I’m crying as I’m typing this and drinking because my ocd has convinced me I raped my friend 5 times. She doesn’t believe me. It’s because she was asleep for 4 out of the 5 times and it’s killing me. It’s strangling me that I might’ve done these heinous acts. I feel sick to my stomach. I’m scared I’m so scared because I DONT WANT TO RAPE ANYONE. And my brain is telling me I did it and I believe my brain I believe it I believe it happened and I’m scared I’m so scared please please please help me I’m so scared
Hi. I have severe contamination OCD. I am currently in ERP therapy but I’m so scared all the time. I always have this constant feeling of disgust for myself and I just want to crawl out of my skin. I hate myself because I feel like I always have germs on me and can never get clean. I’m always wearing two masks, wiping stuff down, avoiding situations, isolating, etc. This OCD has made it so hard for me to function. Most days I don’t want to get out of bed for fear of coming into contact with germs. Does anyone else have contamination OCD? Disgust based contamination OCD? Or can relate? I always feel so alone in this and like no matter what I do or say no one understands the feeling of having germs on your skin.
tw: mention of physical symptoms caused by anxiety and quick mention of sh does anyone else have poor work attendance and call out too much bc of anxiety ? i don’t want to sound entitled for “having the luxury of calling out” whenever i need to bc i know some people just can’t afford to. but i just want to know if anyone else has this issue. (i work a part time barista position) my anxiety will manifest into paralyzing physical symptoms like severe nausea, sweats, urges to sh, and continuous horrible intrusive thoughts that manifested said anxiety attack, and i know that my unstable mental state will make me very unpleasant to be around and completely unable to perform my job properly. so i’ll end up calling out. my managers haven’t talked to me about my attendance, but i’m very vocal about it bc i’m highly aware that it’s a problem. i’ve told them that it’s not that i don’t want to work. i’m not that kind of employee. i just become so paralyzed and consumed in my head that i know i won’t be able to perform my role that day and it’ll do more damage coming in unfortunately. i know most people will just go in regardless and i completely admire those of you that do. but does anyone just have shitty attendance for this reason ? :(
i have my first therapy session on here in a couple of weeks. i was going to wait until i had my first session to stop doing compulsions and stuff but i decided to try erp on my own and see what happens.
I keep having horrible nightmares of me doing terrible things to people. Like being a sexual deviant or something and it scares me and makes me feel bad about myself. Is this normal?
a lot has happened since i last posted on here, i am now taking zoloft which has helped me take down the intensity of OCD from like 100 to 70 or 80 and i am now also offically receiving treatment from an OCD specialist!!! i really like her shes completely understanding and nice and i have felt nothing but validated everytime i see her. things have been going more okay i guess but i just got triggered by something very recently and i kind of broke down. my face is puffy as i am literally typing this. im probably gonna talk to my specialist about this but i just wanted to come back on the app for a bit and feel less alone and shitty. thank you all for just existing and being on here, i wish you all nothing but the best. thanks to anyone who read all my word vomit.
i’ve been in a really bad funk for like a week now and i can’t get out of it. my ocd hasn’t been this bad since i started treatment a month ago and i was doing so well and now im really down again and i can see it effecting my relationship w my mom and family again and i feel so hopeless and just really depressed.
Recently my anxiety has been bad because it gets worse when I'm at college. All I can think about is death and "what if this happens to me" and it's hard for me to picture myself in the future because I just feel like something is going to happen to me. Then the topic of suicide will pop in my head even though I don't want to die but it just makes me uncomfortable thinking about it and freaks me out. I've been telling myself " what if in my sleep I unconsciously harm myself" this sounds so crazy but genuinely gives me anxiety.
Hi everyone, does anyone struggle with relationship OCD? I have substantial trouble with ROCD, It has been present in my life for as long as I've been in relationships, and the pain that comes with this OCD is unreal sometimes. I have left every past relationship I had been in just to relieve the unbearable anxiety and suffering I was in 24/7, up until meeting my current partner 1 1/2 years ago, I have just learned within the week about OCD, and more specifically ROCD. For the last 6~ years, I thought I was just broken-like something was just wrong with me, like I was just wired this way, and that I was just unfixable. No diagnosis/disorder I have been diagnosed with has ever made sense/explained any symptom I had with me; like OCD. This disorder just clicks in my head and checks every box I have ever been searching for, for the last 6 years. I made peace with myself that I was just made this way. Going out in public with my S/O, going to friends houses with her, staying at her house and having people come in her room with us; all made my anxiety so unbearable, I was so uncomfortable, I felt like I was in survival mode, like I was in grave danger. I feel this crazy jealousy with anyone she spends time with besides me, anything that I couldn't predict/control, drove me insane, I would lose sleep over those thoughts, that I would lose her, that she could be laughing with someone else, they'd never ever leave my head, the sense of danger never left me, unless I left that partner, then and only then, would my anxiety go away. I would start to feel safe, but so lonely. The uncertainty that is a relationship would quite literally drive me to the brink of insanity, but would break my heart in the process, because I have simply felt unlovable for as long as I have been searching for it.
I work in social work and today I went into a home that was infested with fleas. I immediately freaked out. Once getting back to the office I was freaking out, my boss didn’t understand and wanted me to go back. I ended up not listening literally stripping in the parking lot throwing my clothes away and going to a truck stop to shower. Anyway, I’m still stuck on feeling the need to shower every time I go near my car since I was in it before I could shower the first time. Obviously I need to go to work and use my car and I know it doesn’t have fleas but any tips on how to feel better about this? I’ve been too anxious to go near it and every time I do I feel the need to flea bomb the car, throw my clothes out, and shower.
