Do any of you have any tics? I don’t know how to deal with them. I don’t think it’s Tourette’s... but what if it is?
This past week I’ve been so good with my hocd and just tonight I spiraled grrrrrr I’m so over this My friends and I were doing this thing with the magic 8 ball and my ex bf left me 4 months ago and we asked it if I’d ever find a man and it said no 3 times than a yes, than my friend (who doesn’t know about my hocd) said “maybe ask if you’ll find a woman” and I just laughed and didn’t ask but it triggered me so much
I don’t even know what type of ocd this is, but I’m obsessing about molesting my family while I’m asleep. And having intrusive thoughts about messing w children and my dogs. I can’t sit by people or touch them further than a hand shake. Even that causes so much distress that I feel like I’ve hurt them or assaulted them or violated their personal space without knowing it or maybe I liked touching them (even though it was only a handshake) and I’m committing incest. I cannot live this way. It’s not okay.
How do you overcome porn addiction? This Ocd has made me lean on porn a lot and sometimes it triggers me because i don’t feel like I’m focused on the girl alone but on the guy too...... I’ve never ever gotten hard while thinking about gay related stuff but I would think about sex with my ex girlfriend and get hard or any other girls I slept with This is so hard to deal with
Hi, everyone! I’m 21, and I’ve experienced just about every type of OCD in the book, but I’ve also recovered from everything. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me; however, I am not a professional.
will depression, anxiety OCD and other things i got goin on will be gone completely after i heal?
My daughter has ocd. The therapist ask us to set limits, but she reacts with severe anger attacks, like hitting her little brother, her parents and destroying things. How do you stop the circle of violence?
What does it mean when you have no anxiety but also not feel no emotion for girls or guys I still want to be with girls so much but ocd is stopping it but I also don’t get anxious a lot anymore
I have a crippling obsession with only being to see the world from a first person point of view and it makes me feel scared and trapped all day long. Ive tried meds and they help a little and exposures can help calm me down but reading and tv are my only real outlets. Just always obsessed with how I can only see the world through my own eyes and my body from my perspective. Very distressing. Its been going on for months now and I have no clue what it could be other than a sensorimotor obsession. Someone please have some advice!
Hi everyone! I would just like to share something that I learned in ERP that has helped me immensely. It’s called the three r’s. 1.RECOGNIZE that it’s ocd (thoughts, feelings, urges, sensations, actions, rituals) remember ocd operates on DOUBT if you are questioning or find yourself saying “what if” it is more than likely ocd 2.REFRAIN from rituals or avoidance You need to talk back to the ocd (this can be in forms of risk statements or sarcasm but be careful! Don't reassure yourself!) remember that living with an acceptable level of risk is the goal. 3.REDIRECT your attention to something that actually deserves your attention. Such as pets, family, anything that makes you happy. I know this one sounds so difficult because ocd can glum onto everything! But remember you are not your ocd, ocd is a little gremlin lying to you, telling you things to gain power. Don't give it that power! Talking back: Risk statements- ”I have to take the chance that today is the day X will happen” the goal is to live with the thought of this, eventually the power will be taken away from it. Hope this helps! If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. Disclaimer: I am not a licensed therapist or psychologist. This is just some things that I have learned from the latter and the technique has helped immensely!
Okey now I'm afraid that I may have emotional dependency towards my boyfriend, and that because of that I'm not "in love" with him for real, but "addicted" to him.. And that in order to feel better I have to leave him... And here we are I'm crying..
Guys I'm scared. It was finals week this last week, so I've had to do a lot of studying and preparing for tests. This has kept my mind busy and my ocd hasn't been nearly as bad as it's been. Now that the week is over, I fear my ocd will get exponential worse, as it tends to do when I get bored or have nothing to do. Any tips? I feel like forcing myself to be busy will just make it worse, because then I'd be using it as a compulsion.
The response prevention messages on this app are ridiculous. “Maybe I have an std I’ll accept the uncertainty and move on” Uhhh excuse me? I think the fuck NOT. I DO NOT accept this. How is that helpful? I mean I’ve been tested negative my entire life but to see that written in front of my eyes makes me want to rip them out. Ridiculous to expect us to accept things like that.
My mom passed about a month ago, she was 65, a alcholic, i am also a alcholic, with awfull thoughts, my mind is telling me i didnt really love her, i dont miss her enough, i feel numb a lot, but when my mom was here how muched i loved her, never would have come up, very very close, this has made me more numb, more depressed than i ever was, really hurting
Can ocd be toward the fear of people seeing you as lesbian and then having it manifest to fear that you are and always have been lesbian? Because I’ve been dealing with HOCD since the 8th grade and I’m currently 21 about to be 22 next month. I don’t even know anymore. I feel like my mind is just tangled up with mixed emotions and fears and anxiety. I suffer from POCD every once in a while but it’s not as bad as my HOCD, and I’m guessing that’s because I went to therapy as soon as I started with POCD because I thought I was a danger to children. Also, it wasn’t until my POCD started that I was diagnosed with ocd and then later came to realize that my HOCD from my 8th grade year and the random fall backs I had about HOCD were OCD.
Hello here is a story of my past trauma that turned my life upside down and made my ocd monster under my bed. So in high school i said one word and that was the end of me,Bullied ,Abandoned by friends,Isolated,Hated,Made fun off ,Violence, Now im alone no friends ,no job, sick and beat down emotionally ,I feel like a part of me died and all thats left is unresolved hate . "Be it a rock or a grain of sand, in water they sink as the same." Doesnt matter how big or little sin or mistake can be the end of u, Life really is crazy.
Hi everyone! I would just like to say that we are all in this together and nobody is alone. I personally have struggled with ocd for years and have had almost all subtypes. But I am in a good place now. If anyone needs some support, I am here. You can do it ❤️ you are not your OCD
I feel kind of good after talking to some of the members on this app but for some reason my brain keeps telling me "I'm not having any HOCD and just in denial" or "you're not the same as them and you're gay" and it just makes me feel bad over and over again. It's making me sad that I AM somebody I don't want to be and I'm just talking to other people for nothing.. and maybe I'm just forcing myself to be straight... I really don't want to feel all of this
How do I get over my schizophrenia OCD. Been debating posting this. This is like the last ocd theme I have to overcome. Im great when im distracted but since ik getting over my harm ocd my brain wants to attack what I fear more. I hyperfocus on sounds and think dumb things. I sleep with the tv on to ensure im hearing the tv. I was getting hallucinations in my sleep on prozac so i came off but it fueled my ocd.
ERP and therapy isnt working for me. I guess this means I don't have OCD and that I have to die.
