I’m just wondering. Would God send me to hell because I swear? I am a Christian in my faith but I have to admit sometimes I may not come across that way because I swear like a sailor, can even come across as nasty at times like judgy? Me and my partner dirty talk when having sex and say things maybe god wouldn’t approve of?? But we aren’t doing it to cause harm to each other, and it’s our own private time, where we say things that turn us on that aren’t very “Christian like” if that even makes sense… do you think God will look down on me because of this? Or he would think I’m not worthy enough to be a Christian? Even me smoking and having tattoos and planning on getting more, what would God think of this? I need a good Christian opinion of this please 🙏🏼

I need some support from anyone who’s willing to offer it, please. My ocd, particularly scrupulosity, has been making my life a living hell. I can’t ignore my suspicions and compulsions and they rule my life. I’m debating whether or not the God I rely on even exists, and quite frankly I’ve been thinking about suicide. I don’t know how to tell my loved ones. I was in a position where I had to talk someone down from suicide at a young age and it crushed me afterwards. I know suicide is wrong, and I’m scared to think about it, but I don’t know how I can live. I just need someone to know.

I keep having unwanted sexual thoughts or images in my mind and its really stressing me and my compulsion is to avoid and block the tought the thing is that i am a believer i dont and if do erp i am supposed to facd my thought and let myself think abt it but my rocd male me feel that i will have sins and that i can not let myself think such things so idk what to do abt this sexual thoughts

Anyone deal with this? Uncertainty regarding an event in your past. You wonder was anyone hurt but you can never know for sure. Always fearing you are going to get in trouble one day. Then on top of that the thoughts regarding the event feel so real that you walk around defeated feeling like you are so bad and you should just tell everyone. Then the intrusive thoughts that make you fear the worst case scenario are always in your head all day everyday for a year. Then you start seeing confirmation/signs of your worst fear/intrusive thoughts everywhere that seem to confirm your fears. You start wondering is God trying to tell you something because every thing you watch, see, hear seems to point to or talk about what you’re obsessing about. Then because of the uncertainty you ask God to tell you what the outcome of the event was. Then all of a sudden you start seeing more signs of your theme and think is God confirming this. Then there are days where you get or see confirmation debunking your fear of worst case scenario and you wonder is God giving me signs in the other direction now.

I am always anxious and overthinking in my relationship I’m scared that it’s the Lords way of telling me he isn’t the one. I always hear that when you’re with the right person you’ll have peace about it and know that they’re the one.. but that freaks me out because I’m alwaysss overthinking and anxious 😭 I’m scared that he isn’t the one the Lord has for me

For the past 8 months I’ve been terrified of developing schizophrenia, I’ve gone through various stages of this theme, like in the beginning I was really afraid of hallucinating and stuff like that but as the months and this obsession progressed I’ve become more afraid of having delusions and the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. In the beginning after watching a demonic horror movie or something I would start getting awful intrusive thoughts like “what if I start to believe my wife is a demon” or “what if I start believing the government is run by satan” or some shit, but now i get thoughts like that all the time and even without watching horror movies, and now the “what if I start to believe” part is gone and now the thoughts are like “what if my wife is a demon.. well you can’t prove she’s not” etc etc. my ocd or anxiety has really latched onto these delusional, demonic thoughts. I hate them so much, I have never ever believed in superstitious stuff like this before, I am a literal atheist and a secular humanist. What is wrong with me? Has anyone ever had intrusive thoughts like this?

I have a mix between harm ocd and religious ocd. It sucks so bad I miss the Christian I was. Sometimes the intrusive thoughts will sound like instruction from god to do harm. I know it’s a load of crap but when it happens it can be distressing. I hate that it latches on to the things we love the most. If any of you have experienced this or have your own complex mixes I feel for you ❤️‍🩹 hang in there.

Any of you ever accidentally say a a word mispronounced that sounds like a deity if another religion or the d*vil and then you worry if that means you worshipped another deity against your religion. Which wasnt my intent but if i mispronounce ir accidentally say the word i freak out

I’ve been feeling depressed lately, because I’ve gone down a rabbit hole thinking about how it seems like everything is connected or underpinned by something unjust or inhumane. For example, the clothes we wear may have been made by people in unsafe working conditions, the animals we eat may have suffered in cages, the child actors from the shows we watch aren’t always protected and taken care of, and the materials from our phones were produced by oppressed children in the Congo. It just seems like there is something wrong with everything and it’s hard for me to see the good. I feel complicit in these unjust systems. I see people saying “boycott this” and “boycott that”, because money talks. But honestly I don’t want to boycott certain things. Nor do I want to become vegan. Then I feel guilty, like this makes me a bad person. It feels so hard to be a good person in this world. It feels impossible to be a good follower of Christ. Like what’s the point? How do you find joy when there is so much wrong with everything? Almost everything I love has lost its joy and the things I used to like doing, reading and writing and film, now feel wrong. I’ve become obsessed with being moral and it’s making me miserable.

Does any get rejection thoughts about God & Jesus? My current theme is doubting them and I love God & Jesus so much! Yesterday I had a thought about “I reject ___” and it scared me so bad and hurt my heart so much! I’ve had that thought before and was able to move forward and i believe I was forgiven but I feel like my OCD is now trying to latch onto this theme. Any advice? Has anyone had those thoughts to?

I keep seeing things about end times. I have always suffered with OCD about religion. Like solar storm/solar eclipse knocking out cell phone service and the solar eclipse happening. Does anyone relate??? I feel so alone I keep talking to my boyfriend about it but i don’t think he understands what I am going through mentally from it.

Last week, I had a really bad OCD spiral, where I was convinced that I was in fact paranoid and going "crazy". I ended up going to the ER, and they confirmed that it was in fact my OCD and prescribed me meds. I met with a few psychiatrists and they also confirmed that I have OCD. I started therapy with NOCD on Tuesday, and had a great session, and felt great! And yesterday, I was doing pretty good, where I was able to go into the office, and have a normal work day. I still had those intrusive thoughts regarding paranoia but didn't cause me distress and kind of just pushed them away with ease. This morning, I started having some bad intrusive thoughts where I see myself trying to fight the negative thoughts in my head. These intrusive thoughts sometimes feels like its another person in my head. I've had these experiences before, and I tell myself that these are just my thoughts, and not anybody else's, and I am afraid that I am believing that there is some kinda entity in me trying to convince me that these intrusive thoughts are true. Coming from a very religious background, it makes it even harder for me to push these thoughts away because people in church will tell you that it is an evil spirit causing this distress. I know that this doesn't make sense from a rational perspective, but it makes me always question that it might be true. I find myself trying to tell this "entity" or spirit that it doesn't belong in my brain, which makes me feel like I might have a more severe mental illness.

Just wanted to let you guys know . I hop in from time to time to read and check in and wanted to let you guys know that I’ve dealt with a lot of the things mentioned here if not all . I am not a trained therapist. I’m just telling my own testimony in hopes to help others. 1. It’s not the thoughts that are the problem …. It’s the relationship we have with the thoughts. The more we realize that OCD thoughts have absolutely no meaning , the quicker you can move forward. The anxiety will lessen once your relationship changes and you’ll be able to overcome. 2. There’s not a different regime for each subtype . ERP is the best approach ..Don’t run from these thoughts …. Sit with them And retrain your brain to learn that they don’t mean a thing. If you’re having SOCD about a particular friend , have the courage to go out and hang with them. It’s tough but the more you expose yourself to the environment that you’re afraid of …. The more your brain realizes that these fears are irrational. If you’re having self harm OCD . Expose yourself to the things that you fear … At the root of OCD is fear and doubt….. it’s not the subtype itself …. Approach them all in the same manner. OCD hit me like a ton of bricks 4 years ago …..I struggled tremendously about 2 years before knowing how to handle it or even what it was. I lost my Job due to OCD and almost admitted myself in a hospital several times because I thought I was going crazy. It was almost two years of debilitating anxiety until I learned what I was dealing with was OCD. A few subtypes to name : health anxiety, sexual orientation ocd, self harm ocd, sleep anxiety , fear of being a pedophile. It’s like once I got over one ….the next would come until I realized they were all coming from the same thing ….that’s when my life started to change Fast forward, with the help of God, I learned to retrain my brain and not to worry about intrusive thoughts when they come in from time to time. actually learned to take them as the joke they are . The more I exposed myself … the more I trusted myself . Nobody else can reassure you … better yet you don’t need reassurance because it’s actually what keeps you in the cycle. Just Trust God Now I’m a Middle school teacher , in graduate school working towards my degree in counseling with a bright future ahead. I say this to say that, if I can do it , you can do it too …. I’m no different from any of you … I didn’t have a therapist at the time so take advantage if you do. Don’t view OCD as bad ….. it’s apart of you that you will learn to manage. I don’t regret OCD cause it has made me a less fearful person …. I’ve fixed fear and doubt that rooted from my childhood through the struggles of OCD . So it was a blessing in disguise. This is a temporary phase for all of you , trust me . And I know how hard it is to believe that when you’re in the middle of it . But remember. Once your relationship with the thoughts changes that’s when you Free yourself Love all 🙏🏾

I feel that this post could be triggering so please approach with caution! I’ve been having a lot of intrusive thoughts about the devil getting sent my intrusive thoughts and then making them come true. This has also led some of my intrusive thoughts to include that they’re for him. It’s really scary. I’m not even religious, but it’s really hard to shake. Does anyone have any advice or comfort? For those who have stepped away from religion, did your OCD and scrupulosity become more manageable? Where you able to stop thinking about spirituality?

My OCD makes me doubt my faith & God! It also makes me doubt myself, my values and literally everything! Makes me even doubt if this is OCD! I love God & Jesus! I know I gave my life to Him! Being reborn! I’ve seen the changes! It hurts to have these thoughts & feelings of doubt! I’ve been having this for 6 months. It started as a thought of “is God real” now it’s like my mind has interrogated me over and over again making me question everything! Yelling accusations at me! Telling me I don’t “believe enough” or “maybe I don’t believe” or “I don’t love Him” and just stuff like that and I hate it! I want faith & belief and I refuse to give up! I try to remind myself this isn’t a Faith problem but an OCD problem but my OCD tries to make me doubt that! Anyone gone through this? Any advice?

if you read it this far, I hope you know that all of this will be over, if you keep on fighting, you are one strong fighter, and with God anything is possible, and your not alone. I pray God will give you peace and joy🤍🫶🏼

This one’s new for me but ocd is loving repeating a specific word right now out of the blue that sparks so much anxiety and makes my harm ocd act up too. I have a little complex mix of religious ocd and harm ocd. Anyone else know how to cope with word repetition.

I'm a Christian, I've been a Christian for as long as I can remember. I love my faith and was in the midst of getting back into it. However now I'm afraid. The troubling thing about the abrahamic faiths is that there is a heaven and there is a hell. I'm not sure much about Judaism but I know in Christianity and Islam that he'll exists. Now I saw some thing stating a claim that all Christians will go to hell in Islam and now I'm questioning my faith and can't stop thinking about it. Not to say that I don't love my muslim brothers and sisters. I'm I just very confused and scared. I can't afford to be wrong.
