Hey! I just started Prozac and I’m on day 4 or 5 and I’m feeling super anxious and having mini panic attacks, is this normal? I know my psychiatrist said anxiety will raise for the first two weeks but I just wanna know if this happened to anyone else. I’m also super tired Thanks 😊
the only path that leads me from here is suicide. because it's gonna only get worse from now. i keep thinking what could happen that is worse than this and in the future it eventually happens. and im terrified. i just thought abt a possible fear of a certain horrible thinking, and the more i fear the more it becomes possible and stronger. i already opened the doors to hell and it can't be closed by just not thinking abt it.
Hello, I just wanna put my thoughts onto something to hopefully release them. I have health ocd/anxiety which comes with googling and overthinking. Lately, I’ve been have stomach issues and acid reflux on new SSRI medication and convince myself I have SIBO or a weird disease. I then I looked into gastric diseases then freak myself out more for days on end. I’m am trying to use the ERP and saying “Mabye I do mabye I don’t”; but I always end up doing stuff to make it worse. If I have any advice don’t google, I should take my own advice😂. I have a few appointments to make sure nothings wrong which I know logically nothings wrong but for some reason I still think something is really wrong. (If you have similar stuff DONT look it up, it’ll just say the worst thing, ignorance is bliss 😭😂) Not expecting a response, just wanted to “release” my thoughts. Hopefully I help someone who is going the same thing. Anyways hope everyone is doing good and making progress in their life. :)
Hi, so my mum and sister are going away for 5 days this week/weekend and i genuinely dont know how i am going to survive. I still have my dad, but i feel my mum is the only person who knows what to do with me, and if i stress out/feel sick then she knows how to calm me down. My sister also is okay with this, and def better then my dad so idk what to do. I have cried so many times over the last couple of days and usually the longer ik abt it and the more i think about someone going away i start to feel better and see the positives, but this time it just keeps getting worse and worse. I also feel horrible that i am making my mum feels bad for going on a trip she is excited about just because of my stupid OCD. I have talked to my therapist about it but no one truly understands what it is like so they cannot really help me.I honestly dont know how i am going to get through this and go to skl for a couple days and act like everything is ok. Please help me and tell me tips or advice for this.
i understand that i need to resist compulsions and i understand that intrusive thoughts are not true to who you are but i still feel like a monster and i don’t know what to do, My boyfriend is the best boyfriend ever and i know i want to be with him forever but lately i’ve been having intrusive thoughts about hurting his feelings or doing something terrible and even though i know i would never i just can’t seem to accept that these thoughts don’t make me a monster..
I was doing very well with all my thoughts but then they started to get really bad this week. I am very sure I am straight and only want to be with a man but I have such good relationships with my girl friends and my mind plays tricks on me and likes to make me think it’s more than just a friendship. And this voice in my head tells me it’s not disgusting when in reality I would never do anything physical with them at all.But they get so intense I start to believe it. I just am not sure how to get out of this cycle. Every time I get better I think about getting in a relationship with a man and i freak out (what if i don’t like it? does that mean ill have to be gay) and all these thoughts blow up in my face and so can’t take it anymore. My bestie is coming to visit me and the thoughts get so intense when she is around and i really want to be in a good head space to spend time with her because i know deep down she’s my best friend and nothing more. Any suggestion to help?
I have been suffering this for about 3 weeks now and its absolutely unbearable, I want to state more explicit details about this but I dont want to distress others, all I can say is I am experiencing this weird feeling in my groin and an urge to masturbate and its horrifying me. I already am diagnosed with anxiety but it pales in comparison with what is happening with me. I had no interest in children at all before this but now I am experiencing doubt and uncertainty. I have already cried 5 times today, this is the most awful thing I have ever experienced. I am only 20 years old and its both physically, and emotionally destroying me
I have ocd, i have crazy intrusive thoughts that make me super uncomfortable, the thing is i understand that ocd goes against your morals and try’s to make you feel like a bad person but how do i avoid pushing people away while trying to treat my ocd.. i love my boyfriend so so much but when i get intrusive thoughts about hurting his feelings or doing something terrible it scares me so bad that i’m scared to be around him because in my head it’s like “why am i even thinking of this if i love him so much” and i know i would never do anything to hurt him but i just feel terrible because he’s an amazing boyfriend and i have all these bad thoughts. :(
In the past, I have struggled with my self esteem, it has gotten much better though! Exercise, and lifestyle changes have helped more than self medicating. But the thoughts still happen more often then I would like, usually triggered by an argument with my partner, when certain friends text her, or overthinking too much. I also sometimes feel like she will leave me or cheat. Even though we are open and honest with each other. How can I help control these thoughts?
Hello, I’m 22 and will be going on a second date with a girl I like but I feel weird about the fact she’s 19. We met on a lesbian dating app and we have so much in common, we text every day and I really enjoy her company. I just turned 22 last month and she’s been 19 for over half a year. Logically I know she gaps are bad because of the power imbalance, but I don’t think I have much power over her, we are both girls, I live with my mom, I don’t have a car or much money, I’m not in a position of power I don’t think,,,, she’s in college, if I was in college I’d probably have graduated by now,,, (I’m not in college or working I’m just trying to get help rn) Anyways is it okay for me to be dating a 19 year old? My mom and friends say it’s normal but idk,,,,,, when she turns 20 and I’m 22 that sounds normal,,, idk,,,,,,,,
I fear I may have POCD, I am terrified of being a pedophile. my symptoms were initially strong surges of anxiety. I made the mistake of looking up what pedophilia is about and now I fear I am one. I have a bad masturbation problem and that didnt help, as now I feel a weird feeling down below and its distressing me. I'm only 20, this never happened to me before and now I only feel confusion and doubt, Ive cried like never before cause of this.
Does anyone else get super scared of feelings of adrenaline while you have intrusive thoughts? Like it feels like it’s trying to take over your body and those feelings of anger are trying to collide and dictate what ur body does? Now you feel impulsive and on edge and you feel like you are acting on your thoughts? Like I get thoughts about hurting family and I get super scared when I get feelings of anger about them and I feel that adrenaline! It’s all intrusive and I don’t like anything of it
My religious ocd is so bad I can’t do anything I wan to anymore and want to check in myself to a hospital. I can’t dress the way I want, do anything at all and feel I just convert to full Christianity so I do not go to hell. My ocd tells me I hate Hod and talk crap about God when I don’t.
what the hell? this entire day ive been trying to do ERP right? allowing the thoughts feelings, sensations be there with very little reaction, saying"oh that's a thought", "that's a feeling" don't care" etc. But it seems to be making it 100x times worse. Like its impossible to just"ignore" it, it feels so freaking real as if this was the truth, the doubts are real, the false attraction feelings and lip sensations are REAL and genuine attraction, feels ego-synotic, its impossible just to ignore or move on from it because I think I'm so hyperfocused on it all so it last the whole day. IDK right now it feels and seems as if I lost? like its not a what if but it feels factual like"I'm naturally gay, I'm gay" and it feels like normal and become ok with that. But I don't want that I don't want to be gay.
Hello, my name is Brittany, and I have been living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) for as long as I can remember. However, since experiencing a stroke that I believe was a result of chiropractic care, my struggles have intensified and become overwhelmingly exhausting. I have always been acutely aware of my body and its signals, which has led to a heightened sense of worry about potential health complications. Though I’ve always had a tendency to worry, the anxiety that has surged since my stroke feels insurmountable. I’m reaching out in hopes of connecting with others who understand this journey, sharing stories and experiences in the hope that, one day, I might find a way to overcome these challenges or at least discover some relief from the relentless grip of anxiety.
Feeling pretty good, except tomorrow I have to go for a cataract surgery pre op check up. Hopefully it won’t be a big deal, but am anxious because of my OCD. Just worried about my Blood Pressure, which is normally a little elevated, but overall I feel fine. I get very anxious obviously because of the OCD. Hopefully all goes well.
So I was talking to this one polyamorous guy but we had been friends before we started talking romantically. Anyway one day he has a mental breakdown and he says he can't do polyamory rn (for reasons I won't get into but I think they're valid) and I was like that's fine. But now it just feels like we can't talk to each other. I am either terrified that I won't be able to talk to him cause I will be too upset or I am terrified he won't talk to me because he hates me. We used to talk nonstop everyday but now we haven't talked for three days. And I don't know if it's me or him, or maybe I am just losing it. But all I want to do is talk to him. I am always checking his socials just trying to see if he's online and wondering if he will or why won't he text me. Anytime we do talk, it's always like a two sentence exchange. Maybe it's him, maybe he needs space, but everytime I see him (we go to college together) he seems to be happier, everytime he posts on twitter he seems happier, I don't know. I just want him to like me. I want to talk to him. I am scared I have to stop talking to him completely, because in the past I have never gotten over someone unless someone else comes in and takes their place so it isn't like we can take a break and then I come back and everything's good. It would likely take a long time, and it's only been like 4 months since we started talking 😭 (I am so cooked). I don't know why I am like this. I wish I could be normal about him/other people. I don't know if I am just in an OCD spiral or not, but I just want it to be over. Sorry for the rambling, but if anyone has any advice I will consider it.
i hate ocd so deeply. just a few months ago the idea of moving in ( in the future ) with the love of my life was comforting and it kept me going. the idea of sharing our lives was everything i needed. now because of ocd it feels like a nightmare, im not excited anymore. ocd makes me doubt that im a bad lover, that i wanted to deeply hurt my lover in the past and that i forgot about it. our relationship was the most comforting thing in my life, genuinely a safe place where i could rest, i felt normal around my lover i could let go of the feeling that I'm a monster. now it's terrible, it's all ruined, i feel like we shouldn't be together, it's a genuine nightmare, and it's not because of them, i love them so much they are the most beautiful person i ever met. it's just that not knowing if i wanted to hurt them or not makes me feel like i shouldnt be around them, so insisting on being in their life makes me feel horrified. my therapist says i shouldn't break up with them because this is all ocd. my lover wants to be with me, they always tell me about how they can't wait to live together, i think they r happy and feel loved in this relationship but it doesn't change how i feel. i Just wish i could go back in time idk what to do anymore. this is what i cherished most in my life and i don't have it anymore and i don't know if ill ever get it back
I hope everyone is doing well! It's been a week or so since I came on the app. I wasn't doing so well, but I promised myself I'd stay off until after my next psychiatrist appointment (two days ago). The appointment didn't last long. I regret not going into more detail with her, but I shared the basics of what I had been dealing with. We're raising my dose (Sertraline) to 100mg. Hopefully, that will do something...? The intrusive thoughts haven't been too bad, but I just feel... blank. There's not a lot going on in my personal life right now, so that might be the main reason. I'm doing okay, though. I've read three books in the past week. I'm about to start my fourth tonight. I don't know if keeping busy in this case is a form of avoidance or not. But I feel depressed if I'm not doing anything, so... here we are! 🥲
